About
Andrei

I grew up in Munich, Germany, raised by professional musicians. In music, talent is never enough — you practice every day just to stay at your level. That shaped me early: discipline, precision, and the belief that quality is earned through repetition.

I later studied mathematics at the University of Munich (LMU) and conducted PhD research at TUM. Mathematics taught me that truth is not negotiable — and that first-principles thinking is the foundation of anything worth building.

I moved to SF because it is the best place in the world to build a startup — and because this problem needed to be solved here. California has some of the largest insurance premiums in the world, and the system is too complex for the people building companies. I saw how much founders suffer inside insurance and healthcare systems, and I couldn't look away.

RiskCube is my answer: a company that combines AI with deep market expertise to help American businesses get better coverage at a lower cost.

Research

My research at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) was supervised by Prof. Scherer in the Research Group for Financial and Actuarial Mathematics. It focused specifically on modeling the triggers of D&O (Directors & Officers) insurance claims. I utilized Generalized Linear Models (GLMs) to compare loss distributions and analyze the dependency between claim frequency and severity.

This mathematical training is what separates RiskCube from traditional insurance brokers. Where others see isolated policies, I see dependency structures. Where others rely on rules of thumb, we build from first principles.

The same models that describe correlation risk in financial mathematics now power how RiskCube analyzes, prices, and optimizes insurance coverage — giving startups and businesses access to insights that were previously reserved for institutional investors and reinsurers.

Beliefs
  • 01

Mathematics and physics are a path to truth.

  • 02

Quality and speed are both forms of respect.

  • 03

The largest economy in the world deserves healthcare and insurance systems worthy of its people.

  • 04

Machines can optimize, but only people can care — the best systems require both.

  • 05

Build to serve people, not for status.
